Do Sex-Free Movies Make More Money?

Is it true that movies without sex really make more money at the box office? Movieguide claims that they do based upon the results from the Annual Report to the Entertainment Industry.

The sites founder, Dr. Ted Naehr, the sites founder said, “Movies with no sex and no sexual immorality averaged significantly more money at the box office than movies with some or a lot of sexual content.”

Of the top 24 movies that were distributed overseas last year, only a quarter of them were strongly sexual in nature.

“Someone is watching what the mass media produce and more often than not, its’ vulnerable little children or a curious, developing, vulnerable teen.”

Movieguide’s analysis of last year’s 275 or so top grossing movies, features 709 films which contained no sexual content or immorality. 96 whack contained implied sexual content or immorality, 76 which depicted sexual content or contained strong immorality, and 26 which contained excessive depicted sexual content and very strong immorality.

The only conclusion for this is because movies without sex is something that all people can watch and aren’t just subjected to those who are 18 and older. Therefore more people are able to watch these movies.

The movies which has sexual content are only limited to a certain demographic of people which limits the amount of money that is being brought in at the box office.

If I had it my way I would make it mandatory for there to be a sex scene in a movie! It makes it so much more entertaining!
